As the Philadelphia Phillies are on the verge of clinching the National League East title, the question arises as to whether this is the greatest era of Philadelphia Phillies’ baseball. The only real competition would be the Phillies of 1976-1983, which included a World Series title, a National League Pennant, and several Division titles. While the regular starting lineup for the Mike Schmidt era Phillies might have a slight edge, the starting pitching of the current Phillies would have the edge. A World Series title by this year’s team would probably sway many people into believing that the current Phillies are tops. What’s your opinion? Please comment below. Photo from phillynews.com
